Fish the Flats on Biscayne Bay
The calm early morning revealed the tell tale signs of feeding bonefish, their wakes creating a visible target for my angler on the bow. The few moments it took to pole into position felt like an eternity. Just moments later, the boat was in position, my angler cast his crab in front of the school and waited a few excrutiating seconds to determine if one of the fish in the school took notice of his small live crab.
A subtle tap and my angler reeled quickly and the weight of the fish was felt by way of a deep bend in the rod and the reel began to scream.
This scenario repeats itself often in Miami’s Biscayne Bay as anglers hook into bonefish, permit, redfish and so much more in the clear and bountiful flats of Historic Biscayne Bay.
